Programme profile
The programme is run by the Institute of Archaeology at UW. It is designed to give students a high quality training in the archaeological profession as well as to provide knowledge and skills needed to ensure a good start in other fields. The programme encompasses a wide variety of subjects, including general humanities courses as well as science - oriented courses, such as Techniques of Securing and Processing Data Statistics – important assets on the modern job market. The programme places an emphasis on Mediterranean Archaeology and provides the knowledge needed for students to take part in archaeological expeditions and explorations all over the world. Excavations Training is obligatory during the course of studies and the Institute of Archaeology offers numerous sites for students to choose from.

1st year: Introduction to Archaeology; Archaeology of Egypt; Archaeology of the Ancient Near East; Outline of Prehistoric Archaeology; Excavation Methods; Excavations; Archaeological Surveys; History of Ancient Egypt end Near East; General Humanities; Intellectual property protection; Occupational health and safety
2nd year: Archaeology of Rome and the Roman Provinces; Archaeology of Greece; Techniques of Data Aquisition and Processing; Photography and Drawing of Artefacts; Museology, conservation and popularisation of archaeology; Outline of Prehistoric Archaeology/Archeology of the Americas; Physical Education; History of Ancient Greece and Rome; Archaeological documentation methods; Epigraphy/ancient language; Excavations; Modern Language
3rd year: Proseminars; Methodology of Archaeology; Electives: Epigraphy/ ancient language; Modern Languages; Excavations; BA Dissertation
